Bangkok: India shuttlers Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy have tested positive for deadly COVID-19, which forced them to withdraw from the ongoing Thailand Open 2021.
Reportedly, the duo turned positive in the third round of COVID-19 test.
Along with the two, Saina’s husband and fellow badminton player Parupalli Kashyap has also been taken to the hospital, even though his reports are not confirmed.
Saina had already withdrawn from the tournament, while her husband Parupalli Kashyap has been forced to withdraw from the event. Kashyap was scheduled to play Jason Anthony Ho-Shue of Canada later on Tuesday.
This is not the first time Saina has had to deal with coronavirus. She had recovered only a few weeks ago after she and Kashyap had tested positive.
