RT-PCR Negative Report Mandatory For Passengers De-Boarding At BPIA

Bhubaneswar: In view of the spike in the number of novel coronavirus cases, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday made RT-PCR negative report compulsory for passengers to deboard at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).

The BMC has said that the guideline will come into effect from Tuesday.

The report must be obtained within 72 hours of landing at the airport. Passengers, who have completed two doses of vaccination, may also produce the vaccination certificate in lieu of the RT-PCR negative report, the order stated.

The BMC has also issued fresh guidelines for strict adherence at the airport:

  • Submission of RT-PCR negative report is compulsory for de-boarding at Biju Patnaik International Airport.
  • All passengers de-boarding at BPIA to produce RT-PCR negative report (not older than 72 hours) after landing
  •  Those passengers who have taken two doses of vaccine can produce certificate of the final dose of vaccination in lieu of RT-PCR report
  • The airport director to make sure strict adherence of all the guidelines

The order will remain in force until further orders.

The passengers de-boarding at the airport without RT-PCR negative report or vaccination certificate, legal action will be taken against the airlines concerned, said BMC sources.
