Rs 8 lakh looted from businessman in Nimapara
Konark: A group of five armed miscreants allegedly looted cash worth Rs 8 lakh from a businessman after keeping him at gunpoint near Nimapara Canal Road in Puri district on Tuesday.
According to sources, incident occurred when the businessman, identified as Ranjan Sahu of Rupadeipur near Balanga, was on his way to Nimapara SBI branch to deposit the cash in the afternoon. The five miscreants waylaid Sahu and snatched away the bag containing the cash after holding him at gunpoint.
Sahu, who owns a fodder business, immediately lodged complaint with the police in this regard. The police registered a case and carried out search at different locations to nab the robbers.
