Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been organising several competitions amongst its employees to commemorate the upcoming International Women’s Day.
With a spirit to foster gender equality as well as bringing the hidden talents from amongst the employees to the limelight a Talent Hunt programme ‘Pratibha,’ was organised at HRD Centre on 4th March.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from both men and women employees who showcased their talents in various forms of art, right from music, dance, mono action, dramatics, poetry writing and recital to whistling and ramp walking.
Four eminent persons from the field literature and performing art, namely Mrs. Ashalata Sarangi, Mrs. Suchismita Biswas, Professor Pareshwar Biswal and Mr. Pallav Chatterjee comprised the jury of the competition.
Employees also took part in large numbers in the poster and slogan writing competition organised on the tagline of this year’s International women’s Day celebrations, viz. Each for Equal.
A quiz competition was also organised at the HRD centre to mark the occasion in which 25 teams participated. Each of the 2-member teams had at least one woman member. In both the written as well as buzzer round all the questions were women-specific. Mr. Sampad Mishra, Senior Manager (Refractories) was the Quiz Master.
All the winners will be awarded in the grand function to be organised at Civic Centre on 7th March to mark International Women’s Day.
