Hyderabad: As India is going to lock horns against West Indies in their upcoming match starting on Friday at Hyderabad, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will look to surpass MS Dhoni.
He will become the first wicketkeeper with most dismissals in India-West Indies matches. Rishabh Pant currently has 3 dismissals from 7 T20Is involving India and West Indies while MS Dhoni leads the list with 5 from 7 T20Is.
Former West Indies keeper Dinesh Ramdin is second on the list with 5 dismissals while another Windies wicketkeeper-batsman Andre Fletcher is on the third spot with 4 dismissals. India cricketer Dinesh Karthik is 4th with 3 dismissals.
MS Dhoni holds the record for most dismissals in an India-Windies T20I (series) but he was not included in the India squad for the limited-overs series against the West Indies starting from December 6. Pant, who has the chance to go past MS Dhoni in the West Indies series has endured a tough time in the limited-overs circuit.
Pant has been criticised by many, be it for his batting, wicket-keeping skills or be his role when it comes to reviews. In the 1st T20I against Bangladesh, Pant had received a lot of flak after India lost their first-ever game to their neighbours.
Notably, India would be looking to put the rare blemishes in T20Is behind them when they take on the West Indies, who had lost the Tests, T20Is and ODIs when India toured the Caribbean in August-September this year.
