Phulbani: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI), Sunil Digal, on charges of bribery. He was caught red-handed while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 4000 from one Prakash Chandra Dehuri of Gudari area under Khajuripada Tehsil.
According to reports, the RI had demanded the amount from Prakash Chandra for the partition of a land. Following this, the victim approached the anti-corruption wing and lodged an FIR. Based on the plaint, the officials laid a trap and arrested the RI red-handed while accepting the gratification.
A case was registered and the accused officer forwarded to court, informed Vigilance DSP Arunana Eka.
