Bhubaneswar: In a big relief to elderly people, registration required for the COVID-19 vaccine will be available in offline mode from Monday onwards.
People over the age of 45 and those with various diseases can get vaccinated by registering offline. State Health Department, Additional Chief Secretary, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, has issued a directive to all the District Collector/Magistrates and CDMOs in this regard.
The ACS has instructed the district officials to ensure that senior citizens do not suffer from hurdles.
Today, website link glitches were reported in Bhubaneswar and other vaccination centres during online registration. It is alleged that elderly were most to suffer.
Notably, people over the age of 60 are getting vaccinated by showing their IDs. Both government and private hospitals are engaged in vaccination. Today, Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, has also been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The vaccinations are available free of cost at government hospitals, while private hospitals will charge Rs 250 per dose per person. Registration on the CoWIN portal is mandatory for vaccination. Those who have not registered yet can register by visiting the said portal.
