Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the KGF films chronicle the rise and fall of a roadside kid, who goes on to become a gangster and rules over the gold mines of Kolar in the 1980s.
Yash became a huge sensation in India after the release of the first part of KGF in 2018.
While KGF Chapter 1 had ended with Rocky (Yash) murdering Garuda and freeing Adheera from the promises he made to his brother Suryavardhan, the second installment will revolve around the power struggle between Rocky and Adheera, which the filmmakers have described as “mother of all collisions.”
The second part of the film is all set to release this year in July.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been roped in to play the main antagonist, Adheera. The film marks his debut into the South Indian film industry.
Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon, the film also stars Sirnidhi Shetty, Anant Nag, Malavika Avinash, Saran Sakthi, Achyuth Kumar, Vasistha N Simha, Archana Jois, Ramachandra Raju, Avinash BS.
The period-action drama was released in December 2018 and went on to win many accolades.
