Bhubaneswar: An under-trial prisoner tied the knot, with the girl he had raped, inside the Jail here on Friday. The marriage was solemnized in presence of jail authorities and other prisoners inside the Jharpada jail.
According to reports, Akash Nayak alias Bunty, a resident of Jatni area in Khurda district, fell in love with the victim. Akash then promised to marry her and kept physical relation with her. When the victim conceived, she disclosed their relationship before her family members and insisted on marrying.
However, Akash refused to marry her. Following which, a complaint was lodged against Akash and he was arrested.
Recently, the jail authorities permitted the accused, who was in prison for last 2 years, for his wedding with the victim.
