Chennai: Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth has opposed Centre’s Hindi language ‘imposition’ saying ‘no one will accept’ it, according to reports.
Rajinikanth on Wednesday said there were few takers for Home Minister Amit Shah’s push for Hindi as a common language. He said: “no one will accept the imposition of Hindi, especially in Tamil Nadu and southern India”.
Rajinikanth told reporters in Chennai that imposing Hindi on non-Hindi speaking states will not be accepted. “A common language will help in the progress of our country but India does not have a common language, the actor turned politician said.
