Rajdhani Express leaves boggies behind; Khurda road DRM orders probe

Cuttack: The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express was halted at Kathajodi bridge in Cuttack on Tuesday after the engine of the train got detached from the boggies.

According to sources, the Rajdhani Express departed the Bhubaneswar station this morning. However, the boggies got uncoupled between B-3 and B-4 coaches and the engine part moved ahead, leaving the coaches.

Following this, the train was halted on the bridge triggering panic among the passengers.

On receiving information about the incident, railway authorities rushed to the spot and launched an operation to resume the train service.

Reportedly, the Rajdhani Express has left after completion of repair work after a delay of one hour. Meanwhile, Khurda road DRM has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
