Rain fury: Road communication disrupted, locals marooned in several Odisha villages
Bhubaneswar: While rain lashed Odisha in the last two days, several rivers swelled up even breaching the danger mark.
Reportedly, the bridge on Mahuda-Bahupali road in Subarnapur district submerged and road communication was disrupted as flood water is currently flowing 5ft over the bridge following incessant rainfall.
On the other hand, over 1500 people of Dangasahi in Thakurmunda block in Mayurbhanj district were marooned as bamboo-bridge over Salandi river connecting the village to the mainland was washed away after heavy downpour.
As many as 50 students have been stranded at Dudhiani High School under Karanjia block in Mayurbhanj district since Tuesday morning due to heavy water logging around the school.
According to reports, as many as 90 students reside in the hostel of the residential school. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, only 50 students are residing in the hostel currently.
