New Delhi: The Indian Railways and airlines have allowed passengers to book tickets from April 15 onwards, reports said.
This is a clear indication that there will be no extension of nationwide lockdown beyond April 14.The reports said the budget carriers IndiGo, SpiceJet, GoAir have started accepting bookings from April 15. However, there was no official word on the matter so far.
A senior government official said IRCTC is accepting booking from April 15. He said the huge workforce has to be brought back gradually.
The passenger trains will be opened slowly, the official said.
Train services were cancelled all over the country in the wake of nationwide lockdown to contain the deadly coronavirus disease. The movement of goods trains has been continuing to maintain the flow of essential commodities.
