Railway services hit as locals protest over delay in power restoration
Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed as locals staged a protest on the railway tracks between Kapilas-Nirgundi affecting five trains between the routes on Thursday.
Opposing delay in restoration work of power supply in the FANI affected areas, locals staged a protest by sitting on the railway tracks between Kapilas-Nirgundi to press for their demand.
Following the protest, five trains including Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar DMU, Puri Express, Nandankanan Express were halted midway. This apart two passengers trains- Keonjhar-Bhubaneswar, and Bangiriposhi-Bhubaneswar passengers trains were also stranded following the protest.
Reportedly, Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar DMU has resumed its service.
