Puri: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Puri Town Police Station was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of RS 3000. The accused police officer has been identified as Biranchi Raula.
According to reports, Raula had demanded bribe from one Bijaya Kumar Khuntia, a resident of Radhagobinda lane in Puri Town to exclude his name from Charge-Sheet in Puri Town Police Station case no.6/2020.
The Vigilance sleuths today caught Raula while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant.
“Left-hand wash and wash of the cotton rubbed over the surface of white paper piece thrown by the accused gave a positive reaction. Accused ASI Biranchi Raula has been arrested at the spot. Bribe amount not recovered,” the Vigilance informed.
