Puri: While the Puri Srimandir Kitchen Vandalism incident came as a shock to populace across Odisha, at least four personnel of the Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) are being interrogated by Singhadwara Police.

Reportedly, one of them was incharge of security at Baata Agana and Nata Mandap and the other 3 dropped the suspicious person (caught on CCTV) outside temple.

The 4 JTP have been issued a show-cause notice to immediately reply under what circumstances the serious breach of security occurred at the shrine.

All the four were on duty from 10 pm on Saturday night till the morning of Sunday.

The police have also reportedly questioned several servitors who were on duty till the Sandhya Dhupa rituals at the temple on the day of the incident.

More than 40 ‘chulhas’ or ovens were found vandalised at the holy kitchen also called (Rosha Ghara) on Saturday night, leading to a delay in the rituals of the trinity — Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath, and a scarcity of holy food the ‘Mahaprasad’ for devotees.
