Puri: The fourth accused in the case of the alleged gang rape of a girl in Puri town has been arrested from Rayagada district by police on Saturday.
Reportedly, the police have arrested the accused from near Nagabali river in Rayagada.
Jitendra Sethi, a former police constable, who was dismissed from service in February after multiple charges of misconduct, had allegedly offered a lift to a minor girl from Nimapara area in a car on December 3. Later, he along with three other persons took the girl to his government quarters near Jhadeswari Club where she was allegedly gang-raped.
While police had arrested the prime accused Jitendra Sethi and another Rajesh Sethi in connection with the case, another accused identified as Rama Chandra Pradhan was apprehended on Friday.
A charge sheet will be filed within 20 days from December 2 as the case was taken up on a priority basis, DIG, Central Range, Asish Singh had informed on Thursday.
