Puri: In the latest development in the alleged gang-rape of a girl at police quarters in Puri, the third accused, Rama Chandra Pradhan, has been arrested today. Pradhan is a resident of Aliaputu village in Brahmagiri area in the district.
According to reports, so far three people including the prime accused, suspended police constable Jitendra Sethi, have been apprehended in connection with the incident.
According to the victim, four persons, one of them claiming to be a policeman, offered her lift on a car. Later, they abducted her and took her to government quarters near Jhadeswari Club and two of them took turns to rape her.
While narrating her ordeal, she alleged that two persons locked the quarters’ door from the outside, two others raped her.
As many as two special squads have been formed to investigate the case. Efforts are on to nab the fourth accused person in the case, police sources said.
