Puri: In the latest development to the alleged gang-rape at a police quarter case, the prime accused, a dismissed police constable, has been arrested in Puri.
The accused, identified as suspended police constable Jitendra Sethi, has been apprehended. Meanwhile, three other suspects are also being interrogated in police custody.
As per reports, the girl was waiting near Nimapara bus terminal to return to her home at Kakatpur in Puri district when four persons, one of them claiming to be a policeman, allegedly offered her help. Later, they allegedly abducted the girl and took her to government quarters near Jhadeswari Club and gang-raped her.
Further narrating her ordeal, she alleged that while two persons locked the quarters’ door from the outside, two others raped her.
Till the last report came in, the survivor was sent to the hospital for medical examination. As many as two special squads have been formed to investigate the case, sources said.
