Mumbai: After the Bombay High Court’s order for the Pune police to release the minor accused on bail in the Porsche hit-and-run case on Tuesday, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde assured the victims’ families that despite the bail, the perpetrators would face action.
Additionally, CM Shinde presented a cheque for Rs 10 lakhs to the victims’ relatives as an exceptional measure.
Omprakash Awadhiya, father of the late Anish Awadhiya, and Suresh Koshta, father of Ashwini Koshta, met with CM Eknath Shinde at the Varsha bungalow on Monday. CM Shinde promised them decisive action against the accused and expedited proceedings in a fast-track court.
CM Shinde had announced that the parents, although residents of Madhya Pradesh, would receive financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh. The financial aid cheque was handed over at the Sahyadri guest house on Tuesday.
