Describing Nandy as “brave,” Kher recalled how he had supported him during his early days in the city. “He was an amazing poet, writer, filmmaker, and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength in my initial days in Mumbai. We shared many things in common, and he was one of the most fearless people I encountered—always larger than life.”
Kher reflected on their relationship, saying, “I learned so much from him. Although we didn’t meet often in recent years, there was a time when we were inseparable! I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of *Filmfare* and, more importantly, *The Illustrated Weekly*.”
Concluding his tribute, Kher described Nandy as a true friend, stating, “He was the true definition of a ‘yaaron ka yaar’! I will miss you and the times we spent together, my friend. Rest well. #HeartBroken.”
