Bhubaneswar: President of India Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Dharmendra Pardhan and BJP President JP Nadda expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of the Odisha BJP MLA and deputy leader of Opposition in the Assembly Bishnu Sethi.
The President, in her condolence message, stated that his demise has left a void in Odisha politics.
Saddened by the demise of Shri Bishnu Charan Sethi, a prominent public figure in Odisha. A prolific writer, Shri Sethi was an eminent legislator. His demise leaves a void which is difficult to fill. My heartfelt condolences to his family, well-wishers and followers.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on his twitter that Sethi made outstanding contribution to Odisha’s progress.

Similarly, Amit Shah termed his death as an irreparable loss for BJP family.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who shared a personal bond with Sethi stated that he lost one of his brothers who loved him very much.

Bishnu Sethi died due to kidney-related ailments while undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
He breathed his last while being treated at the ICU of the hospital today. He was 61.
Sethi was the Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Legislative Assembly and Vice President of BJP’s Odisha unit.
He was elected to the Assembly from Dhamnagar constituency in 2019 and Chandbali constituency in 2000.
