In a significant event ahead of Navy Day, President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Puri and walked along the historic Bada Danda (Grand Road) to reach the revered Srimandir.
The President offered prayers to Lord Jagannath and his siblings, seeking blessings for the nation and the upcoming celebrations.
President Murmu’s visit to Puri is part of her five-day tour of Odisha, during which she will participate in various events, including the Navy Day celebrations at the Blue Flag Beach. The Navy Day event promises a grand display of naval prowess, with over 25 warships and 40 aircraft set to participate.
The President’s visit to Srimandir was marked by traditional rituals and a warm welcome from the temple authorities and local devotees. Security was heightened in the area to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit, with extensive measures in place to manage the large crowds and ensure the President’s safety.
Following her prayers at the temple, President Murmu is scheduled to attend the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and other key events in Puri. Her visit underscores the importance of cultural and spiritual heritage in national celebrations and highlights the deep connection between the Indian Navy and the traditions of Odisha.
The Navy Day celebrations will feature a spectacular laser show, a Navy band concert, and military exercises by Marcos Commandos and the parachute team, showcasing the strength and capabilities of the Indian Navy.
