Sambalpur: A 27-year-old pregnant woman admitted in Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in Sambalpur district tested positive for COVID-19.
Reportedly, the woman, who had a travel history to Goa, was referred to VIMSAR from Rourkela on Thursday midnight.
While she showed COVID-19 symptoms on Friday and her swab test came out positive.
Following this, the patient was shifted to the COVID hospital in Sambalpur.
Taking precautionary measures
a PG doctor, a house surgeon, a staff nurse, and an attendant who came in direct contact with the woman were sent to a quarantine centre.
The maternity and gynaecology ward, where the woman stayed has been sanitised. The other patients in the ward have been transferred to a special ward.
