Thakurmunda: A pregnant woman going through acute labour pain was taken on a cot to the ambulance at Nakachida village under Sarat PS limits of Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
Reports said that Radhika, wife of Gupa Samadanka of Nakachida village, was lifted on a cot up to 2 km to a waiting 108 ambulance as the road condition is not motorable.
Driver Tapan Mahant, EMT Sudipta Mahant and helper Lambodar Mahant along with some villagers helped the pregnant woman to reach the ambulance.
Radhika was taken to Udala hospital for treatment. Family sources said Radhika is fine and under the observation of doctors at the hospital.
