Pragya Thakur removed from Parliamentary panel after Godse remark


New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday removed Pragya Singh Thakur from Parliamentary defence panel after she described Gandhiji’s assassin Godse as patriot.

Party’s Working President J P Nadda condemned Thakur’s remarks in the Parliament, wherein she had made the reference.

Nadda said: “We have decided that Pragya Singh Thakur will be removed from the consultative committee of defence, and in this session, she will not be allowed to participate in the parliamentary party meetings”.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he did not want to ‘waste time’ seeking action against Pragya Singh Thakur for her reported reference to Nathuram Godse as ‘deshbhakt’.

Rahul Gandhi said: “What she is saying, that is the heart of the RSS & BJP, what can I say? It cannot be hidden.
