The CB’s clarification came after the MLA’s wife Sujata questioned the whereabouts of Panigrahi.
The Biju Janata Dal on Sunday expelled Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi from the party for his alleged anti-people activities. The former minister was in trouble for his alleged link with arrested Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Abhay Kant Pathak.
Vigilance had arrested Pathak last week for allegedly possessing Rs 9.3 crore disproportionate assets. Pathak’s son Akash, who too was arrested by the Vigilance for allegedly abetting his father’s offence, is scheduled to marry the Panigrahy’s daughter on Dec 15.
