New Delhi: Several parts of Delhi and nearby areas witnessed power blackouts due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds early this morning. The bad weather also affected flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport with several airlines requesting passengers to check on their flight status before heading to the airport.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said thundershower with moderate rainfall will continue over Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The airport authorities have requested the passengers to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.

Strong winds and heavy rain uprooted trees in parts of Delhi which resulted in roads getting blocked.
