Poor road condition forces family to carry body on cot for 5 km in Kalahandi


Kalahandi: The body of a woman was carried on a cot for five kilometre due to non-motorable road in Bagabila village under the Madanpur-Rampur block in Kalahandi district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Jamanthi Majhi.

According to sources, Jamanthi was admitted to Bolangir district headquarters hospital after she fell ill late last night. However, she succumbed today while undergoing treatment.

Later, the body was transported in an ambulance to the village.

After covering a few yards, the ambulance driver expressed his inability to reach the village due to poor road condition.

Later, family members carried the body on a cot for 5 km to reach the village.
