New Delhi: The police have arrested a serial killer nearly two decades after he committed the first murder in Uttar Pradesh.
He is identified as Avinash Kumar Pandey(38). Pandey worked as a security guard in various cities across different states in order to avoid detection and evade arrest.
He committed his first murder in 2000 and the second in 2008. Pandey committed both the crime in Uttar Pradesh.
The reports said he then fled to Mumbai and started working there as a security guard at an upscale condominium in Powai. He lived on the premises of his workplace along with 22-year-old Ankit Singh, also a security guard at Lodha Supreme. It was on October 27 of last year that Pandey murdered Singh and fled the city of Mumbai.
Police said Pandey slit his colleague’s throat after losing to him in a game of online ludo. He was arrested from Kamala Market in Delhi on the basis of a tip-off.
After committing the murder, he fled to Pune and lived for brief periods in Satara, Rajkot, Odisha and Bengaluru before arriving in Delhi earlier this month.
