Sambalpur: Police foiled a dacoity bid last night with the arrest of six miscreants from Laumala market complex under Katarbaga police limits in Sambalpur district.
According to reports, the cops arrested the criminals when they had gathered near the market complex and were hatching a plan to commit loot. A Maruti Suzuki Ertiga car, one pistol, two wooden sticks, iron rods, six mobile phones and other lock breaking tools were seized from them.
The arrested were identified as Kishan Sandha (25), Bidyadhan Rohidas (21), Mitrabhanu Garadia (19), Rabi Mahananda (20), all residents of Rengali, and Tarani Bhoi (22) of Jharsuguda. Police has also arrested the car driver Arun Munda and forwarded him to the court.
In compliance with direction by Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora, a police team led by Katarbaga IIC Ajay Kumar Jena conducted the raid and nabbed the looters, informed Sambalpur SDPO in a press meet.
