Keonjhar: The body of a police constable was found hanging from a tree near his house in Hathinota village under Balipokhari panchayat of Ghatgaon block in Keonjhar district on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Premanand Naik, was serving as a constable in the Bhadrak district. He is survived by his wife and two minor kids.
Premanand was suspended from his job for less than 2 years and was about to join duty soon. However, last night he hanged himself to death in a tree near his house following a suspected family dispute.
On being informed, Ghatgaon police reached the village and sent the body for post-mortem. An investigation into the death has been initiated by the police.
As per preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the constable committed suicide over a family feud. Police now awaits the autopsy report to ascertain the actual reason of his death.
