Bhubaneswar: Intensifying the drive against violation of COVID-19 protocol, the police have collected fines amounting to Rs 2 lakh in four days of Covid Enforcement Drive in the state.
Despite the declaration of lockdown and shutdown by the government and massive awareness as well as enforcement drives by the police, people continue to throw the Covid safety protocols, including ‘social distancing, wearing mask and no congregation’ to the wind.
Reportedly, police fined around 2517 people for violating COVID-19 norms and collected a sum total of Rs 2.57 lakh from them. This drive will continue, officials said.
