Prayagraj:Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Prayagraj today to oversee preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.
During his visit, he met with saints, performed puja at the sacred Sangam, and inaugurated a series of development projects worth ₹5,500 crore.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary included a visit to the historic Akshay Vata Vriksh, followed by prayers at the Hanuman Mandir and Saraswati Koop. He also reviewed the Maha Kumbh exhibition site to assess the progress of the event’s preparations.
Among the key projects launched were significant infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving connectivity and facilities for the millions of devotees expected to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. These projects include the construction of ten new Road Over Bridges (RoBs) or flyovers, permanent ghats, and riverfront roads.
Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated initiatives under the Clean Ganga Mission, focusing on intercepting, diverting, and treating minor drains to ensure zero discharge of untreated water into the Ganga.
In a tech-driven move, the Prime Minister also launched the Kumbh Sahayak AI Chatbot, designed to provide real-time guidance, updates, and information to devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela.
This AI-based virtual assistant is expected to enhance the overall experience for visitors by offering timely assistance and updates.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a successful and well-organized Maha Kumbh Mela, with enhanced infrastructure and facilities to accommodate the large influx of pilgrims. The projects are also expected to boost spiritual tourism and improve the overall civic amenities in Prayagraj.
