PM Modi Praises Indian Scientists For Developing COVID-19 Vaccines

New Delhi: The Prime Minister on Friday lauded the scientists of the country for the scale and speed at which the vaccines were made within a year, to save humanity from the pandemic.

He also appreciated the scientists for making India self-reliant on COVID-19 vaccines, testing kits, necessary equipment, and new effective medicines in the fight against Coronavirus.

Addressing a meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Society via video conferencing, PM Modi stated that scientists helped humanity win against the pandemic by “making a vaccine within just one year” of crisis.

“Bringing science and technology at par with developed countries is better for the industry and the market,” he said.

“Earlier India used to wait for years to get hold of innovations achieved outside, but now our scientists are working at the same pace. Today, our scientists are serving the people by working alongside their foreign counterparts,” he added.

He also reiterated his call for Self-reliant and strong India, saying the COVID-19 crisis may have slowed its pace but our resolve remains the same.
