PM Modi, Mamata Banerjee to launch campaigns in West Bengal


Kolkata/ Pasighat/ Siliguri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will launch their campaigns respectively in the state on Wednesday .

Election fever has gripped the entire nation with just about a week to go for Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP is expected to unveil its manifesto any time this week.

Prime Minister Modi will be launching his West Bengal campaign with two mega rallies. The first will be at the historic Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata and the second one at Siliguri.

Party sources said a massive turnout of over 8 lakh is expected for Prime Minister’s rally at the Brigade Parade ground.

It is worthwhile to note that the Brigade ground was the venue for Mahagathbandhan that held a mega show of a united opposition rally months ago.

Banerjee  was scheduled to kick start the Trinamool Congress (TMC) poll campaign on April 4, but was preponed by a day.

She will be holding a rally in Cooch Behar in North Bengal.
