Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday has said that he recently learnt Tamil language is very rich and diverse in nature.
PM Modi has tried to downplay the speculation that the Central government is planning to impose Hindi language across the country.
The Prime Minister made it clear that the intention of his government was to ban the single-use plastic and not completely ban the use of plastic in the country. He stressed that single-use plastic cannot be recycled and is dangerous to the environment in the long run.
Addressing a gathering of supporters in Chennai, PM Modi said: “This is my first visit to Chennai after being re-elected to the office this year. I am grateful for the welcome that I have received today. When I visited the United States of America where I addressed the people there, I learned that Tamil is a rich and diverse language”.
