New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a review meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to assess the impact of cyclone Yaas in the State.
During the meeting, Odisha demanded two long-term solutions to frequent cyclones–disaster resilience power system and coastal storm surge protection.
Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister proceeded towards his chopper to carry out an aerial survey of the worst-hit Balasore and Bhadrak districts. He will conduct the survey for around two hours and will announce relief package by this evening, sources said.
