Bhubaneswar: As the saying goes, there’s no smoke without fire. With the rumours of BJD-BJP nexus storming the political atmosphere in Odisha, it is now evident that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be sharing the dais at an event in Chandikhole on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend two events in Chandikhol in Jajpur. In the first meeting, he will lay the foundation stones, and inaugurate and launch various projects. The second meeting will be behind closed doors where the Prime Minister will likely blow the horn for the upcoming general elections.
All eyes are on the Prime Minister’s visit and meeting tomorrow to change the decisive mode of Odisha politics. On August 23 last year, Home Minister Amit Shah visited Odisha. Coincidentally with his visit, various projects of the National Highways Authority (NHAI) were laid, inaugurated and dedicated at the state secretariat or Lokseva Bhavan.
Amit Shah’s visit first sparked rumours of an unholy nexus between the BJD and BJP alliance. Also, the Prime Minister was supposed to come to Chandikhole on February 10. However, the program was rescheduled to March 5, on Biju Patnaik’s birthday. This is the same event which would have happened then and the same launch event is going to take place. However, why the date was changed is a complicated math in politics.
Political analysts are optimistic that everything will become clear from the Prime Minister’s speech tomorrow after the two-day ‘alliance exercise’ on Sunday and Monday.
Speculations are rife that BJD will field candidates in 105 Assembly seats and 7 Lok Sabha seats and BJP has agreed to field candidates in 42 Assembly seats and 14 Lok Sabha seats. However, both parties are still tight-lipped over such presumptions and refrained from making any statements.
The Prime Minister will leave Telangana’s Begumpet Airport and arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 2:40 PM. After arriving at BPI Airport, PM Modi will proceed directly by Mi-17 helicopter to Chandikhole in Jajpur district at 2:45 PM. At 3.30 pm, the PM Minister will lay foundation stones and dedicate multiple projects worth Rs 19,600 crores at Chandikhole in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other dignitaries. At 4.15 pm, PM Modi will address a public meeting and at 5.50 pm he will leave for Kolkata.
