Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today arrived in Bhubaneswar to participate in the much-awaited conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police (DG-IGP).
He received a grand reception at the Bhubaneswar airport upon his arrival. Additionally, thousands of people lined up along the road from the airport and at other key junctions to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, among other dignitaries, greeted PM Modi upon his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar a short while ago.
Upon his arrival, PM Modi is set to participate in a felicitation event near the airport. Subsequently, at 5:05 PM, he will depart for the Governor’s residence. Along the route to Raj Bhawan, he will be welcomed with a variety of cultural performances and traditional musical instruments.
In the evening, PM Modi will visit the BJP state headquarters to conduct a meeting with the party’s MLAs, MPs, Ministers, and core committee members. This will be followed by a dinner and a photo session with the party leaders. PM Modi is scheduled to depart from the party office to Raj Bhawan at 8:30 PM.
Previously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval arrived at Bhubaneswar airport to attend a three-day conference focused on security and other significant national issues. PM Modi is slated to participate in the DG/IGP conference on November 30 and December 1.
The conference will be graced by the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Principal Secretary to PM Modi, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Ministers of State for Home Affairs, DGPs of States/UTs, and Heads of Central Police Organisations, among others.
Scheduled from November 29 to December 1, the three-day conference will engage in discussions on vital aspects of national security, including Counter Terrorism, Left Wing Extremism, Coastal Security, the formulation of New Criminal Laws, and the control of Narcotics, among other topics.
For this event, extensive security measures have been implemented. Over 70 platoons of the police force have been mobilized to ensure stringent surveillance.
