Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections 2019 at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Vijay Sankalp rally in Bihar was attended by Ram Vilas Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Bihar Deputy chief minister Sushil Modi.
During his address, Modi referred to the alliance of the opposition parties as Mahamilavat or impure and said its leaders demand proof of the recent airstrikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp in Pakistan’s Balakot.
He criticized the statement of Congress leaders and said it has taken a toll of the morale of the armed forces engaged in defending the country.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar hailed Modi as the foremost leader to lead the country after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The joint rally was held for the first time since 2005.
