PM CARES Fund launched to tackle deadly coronavirus


New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched PM CARES Fund to tackle coronavirus and urged the people to donate generously.

PM Modi on Saturday said on twitter that the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency (PM CARE) fund will go a long way in creating a healthier India.

The Prime Minister shared a UPI ID and said the donation can be given through debit, credit cards, internet banking and RTGS/NEFT.

He said the PM-CARES Fund also accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens.

Meanwhile ,Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has announced to donate Rs 25 crore to PM-CARES Fund to combat COVID19. He tweeted: “This is that time when all that matters is lives of our people. We need to do anything & everything it takes. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai”
