Planned Murder: 10 Persons Arrested In Deogarh’s Reamal

Deogarh: As many as 10 persons have been arrested for planned murder of a man over a dispute at Kankarkhol village under Reamal Police Station limits in Deogarh District.

According to Reamal Police, Anil Kumar Pradhan (26) of Kankarkhol village lodged a written complaint on April 29 morning that his father Santosh Pradhan went missing on April 28. Upon search, Anil along with others recovered his father’s body from the MIP water reserve in Kankarkhol, which is about 1.5KM from his village.

He further mentioned in the FIR that there was a quarrel between his father and the villagers Lambodhar Behera and his son Sipan Behera four to five days ago where the latter had threatened to kill his father. Therefore, he suspects that they might have killed his father.

Following the FIR, Reamal PS IIC Inspector Pradeep Kumar Kerketta registered a case (86/20) under Sections 302 & 34 of the IPC and took up investigation. A special police team was formed under IIC Reamal PS for the detection of the case. Forensic Scientific Team and Detective Dog squad was also utilized for investigation.

During the investigation, it was revealed that accused persons Jatindra Sahu alias Jati, Balia Behera, Pradeep Pradhan alias Padi, Gopinath Pradhan alias Gopi, Bidyadhara Behera alias Bindu,  Parameswar Behera, and Alok Pradhan made a criminal conspiracy against the deceased Santosh Kumar Pradhan to kill him. For this they engaged local garage boys namely Dila, Tapas, and Raja by paying them Rs 5,000/- each to execute the plan. And then they hatched a plan to eliminate Santosh Kumar Pradhan. Accordingly, on 28.04.2020, they managed to bring Santosh Kumar Pradhan to the check dam and assaulted him due to which he died. Thereafter they dumped his body there and fled away from the spot, the police said.

All the above-accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to court on Wednesday. Further investigation of the case is on, the police added.
