Along with Pipili in Odisha, by-elections in Jangipur and Samserganj assembly constituencies in West Bengal has been deferred.
The Commission took the decision to postpone the bypoll in three assembly constituencies after taking all material facts and inputs from Chief Electoral Officers of Odisha & West Bengal.
The Election Commission also directed that MCC in these assembly constituencies will be lifted from immediate effect and will be in operation from next date of operation.
It may be mentioned here that by-elections in these three assembly constituencies were rescheduled to be held on 16 due to the dead of contesting candidates of recognised political parties.
