US Pharmaceutical firm Pfizer is in the final stages to get approval for its COVID-19 vaccine in India, the company’s CEO Albert Bourla said at the 15th Annual Bio Pharma and Healthcare Summit virtual event.
Bourla said he hopes the company will finalize an agreement with the Indian government soon.
“Pfizer now in final stages to get approval for COVID-19 vaccine in India. I hope very soon we will finalize an agreement with the government,” Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said as reported by news agency ANI.
The development comes amid reports that the Indian government is in talks with the US pharma major to find a middle-ground for supplying vaccines in India.
It may be mentioned here that India is close to granting indemnity to foreign COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers such as Moderna and Pfizer.
