Petrol looted from tankers of goods train in Balasore


Balasore: Residents near Bahanaga railway station in Balasore district allegedly looted petrol from the tankers of a freight train last night.

The incident occurred when the train engine carrying 52 tankers of fuel halted near Bahanaga railway station after leakage was spotted in two tankers.

The train was carrying the fuel from Paradip to Subarampur depot in the district.

According to sources, the Loco Pilot of the train after spotting the leakage drove the engines towards Balasore railway station leaving the tankers to inform the incident to the concerned officials.

Meanwhile, locals who spotted the fuel tankers rushed to the scene and began collecting fuel from the tankers. Later, the Railway authorities were informed about the incident who then launched a probe.
