PETA urges PM Narendra Modi to ban meat from menus at govt meetings

New Delhi: Animal welfare group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “ban” all meat products from menus at all government meetings and events.

PETA India’s appeal came in the wake of reports that Germany’s Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks had recently banned meat from being served at meetings and events.

The animal welfare group has said the move will help in curbing greenhouse gas and tackling the issue of climate change.
