PDS rice recovery case: Four RPF personnel suspended for dereliction of duty
Jharsuguda: At least four Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel were suspended for dereliction of duty regarding the recovery of 288 sacks of PDS rice from a train in Jharsuguda district.
The officials placed under suspension are- RPF Inspector LK Das, ASI SK Kumar, and havildars RV Thakur and D Baxla.
According to reports, the PDS rice-laden freight train was en route to Ranchi from Bargarh Ranchi on January 8. However, it was found stuffed in an abandoned house near the rail line at Doubling Colony.
Later, the GRP seized the sacks containing rice. The rice sacks carry logo of Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (OSCSC).
As no case was registered in this regard, the four officials were suspended for dereliction of duty during the investigation process, sources said.
