PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti condemns arrests of Kashmiri separatists leaders


Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday condemned the arrest of secessionist leaders following Pulwama terror attack.

Speaking openly in favour of Kashmiri separatist leaders, Mufti said “you can imprison a person but not his ideas”.

Media reports said her message has indicated the current state of unrest in the state.

The PDP chief’s statement has come in the backdrop of the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief and Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik.

He was detained by the police from his residence in Srinagar on last night ahead of the hearing on Article 35A in Supreme Court.
