Patient carried on cot for 2 km due to poor road connectivity


Nuapada: An injured man was carried on a cot for 2km after the ambulance service failed to reach the village due to poor road connectivity.

According to sources, one Narasingha Majhi of Mahuljharan village under Khariar block in Nuapada district sustained critical injuries after falling off a tree yesterday. Following this, some villagers called the emergency service.

However, the ambulance driver expressed his inability to reach the patient due to a non-motorable road in the village.

With no options left, the family members along with the help of some villagers carried the injured on a cot for more than 2 km to reach the ambulance.

Later, the patient was carried in the ambulance and admitted to Khariar hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
